WHO WE ARE
Since first settling here in 1857, our family has worked this land with care and purpose. From the days of Springdale Stock Farm to Todd Farms, and now Gary Todd Farms, Inc., each generation has carried forward a commitment to stewardship and progress.
Over the years, our fields have produced everything from food-grade white corn and alfalfa to swine, cattle, and even Golden Retriever puppies. Today, we focus on corn, soybeans, and providing seed from Asgrow and Dekalb — blending modern technology with generations of hard-earned knowledge.
We’re proud to be the fifth and sixth generations to greet the sunrise in our corner of southeast Cass County, Nebraska — building on the work of those who came before and preserving this land for those still to come.

IN THE NEWS

REBUILING THE FUTURE
In December of 2021, extreme tornado-force winds devastated the home place, causing extensive damage to most of the buildings on the farm. Miraculously, the 120+ year-old barn, the 100+ year-old farmhouse (now Gary and Kelly’s home), and Melvin Jr. and Sharon’s house were left standing. With the windbreak completely gone and the roof of the office building nowhere to be found, it was the most severe storm the farm had experienced in its history.
The grain bins — followed by the seed building — were hit the hardest, leaving no option but to tear down what remained. The days that followed were filled with both heartbreak and gratitude — sadness for what was lost, yet immense thankfulness that no one was hurt.
Because of the incredible support of family, friends, and our community, plans were quickly set in motion to rebuild. Just over a year later, a new and improved building and grain bin site stood in its place. We feel beyond blessed to continue farming where our story began in 1857 — rebuilding not just structures, but the legacy entrusted to us.
